Pumpkin Spice Coffee | Homemade Pumpkin Cream

It’s that time of year when you may or may not find me in the kitchen, listening to all seven of the Harry Potter soundtracks and baking fall-inspired treats. Oh, and wearing wool socks because these are the kind of things you do when it’s October!  Some of our favorite fall activities include and are not limited to: Making homemade bone broth, throwing the football outside, collecting tree leaves, and watching Hocus Pocus while drinking blueberry wine from Russell Orchards Farm.  My latest obsession has been creating a Pumpkin Spice Coffee recipe.  It might seem as if we’re jumping on the pumpkin flavor bandwagon (and yes we are), but it’s really hard to find a ready to drink pumpkin spice coffee made without refined sugars and “natural” flavoring.

This week I’m sharing my original Pumpkin Spice Coffee recipe!  Completely refined sugar-free and easily altered to fit any dairy-free needs. We use organic coffee beans, grass-fed heavy whipping cream, organic pumpkin puree, and an assortment of organic spices.  And for those of you who prefer a non dairy beverage, you can easily substitute the heavy cream with coconut milk.  This recipe is quick and fun. You’ll be sipping your coffee while wearing your favorite fall sweater or scarf in no time.  Happy Pumpkin EVERYTHING Season!

Prep Time: 5 minutes || Cooking Time: 10 minutes || Total Time: 15 minutes

  • 2 cups freshly brewed coffee, or as needed
  • 1 cup organic pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (or substitute with organic coconut milk)
  • 1/2 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground clove
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamon
  • 2-6 cinnamon sticks (garnish)
Additional Materials:
  • coffee grinder
  • coffeemaker
  • blender, or wire whisk and small mixing bowl
  • 1-4 coffee mugs

 Preparing Your Pumpkin Cream

Spoon out the pumpkin puree and pour the heavy whipping cream into a blender and mix until smooth.  If you don’t have a blender you can easily mix your two ingredients by hand using a wire whisk.  Once the cream and pumpkin are fully mixed, pour into an airtight container (mason jars work wonders) and refrigerate until needed.

Preparing Your Pumpkin Spice Coffee

In a coffee grinder, combine the coffee beans and spices and pulse until finely ground. Transfer the coffee and spice mixture to your coffeemaker (we use a french press) and brew for 1o minutes or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Divide a desired amount of pumpkin cream among 1-4 mugs, then fill with freshly brewed coffee, stir to combine.  Top each cup with a light dusting of ground cinnamon and garnish with a cinnamon stick or two!  Serve immediately and enjoy.
